Moraine Lake Engagement | Janice & Paul

It was a bright, sunny day for Janice + Paul’s Moraine Lake engagement, where they opted to use a Wanderlust Session as their Moraine Lake engagement, giving them beautiful images for their wedding and more time to get comfortable in front of the camera.

We started in Lake Louise and then soon headed off for Moraine Lake using their bus system, which I would definitely suggest using in the morning or evening instead of noon. The only reason being is that it was a VERY long line to get onto the bus (think over an hour).

But, it was worth it? Yes. Would we do it again? Yes! When we got into Moraine Lake we managed to sneak into some of the less known parts of the area for some extra intimate moments without all the tourists passing. It was surreal soaking up the sunshine and enjoying the passing canoes over glittering Emerald lake against the stunning 10 Peaks mountain range that’s so iconic to this spot.

I swear there’s a vortex of sacred energy here because every time we step into this space there is this otherworldly awe that washes over you and reminds you of how wonderful it is to be alive.

Most couples we photograph here are from out of town and it’s their first time seeing the lake and 10 peaks, and one of my favourite things is watching someone experience it for the first time. It makes my heart and soul so happy when we’re all chatting as we make our way up to the overlook and then once we reach the top, there is silence as we look out over the lake, followed “wow”.

There might not be that many things in life that take your breath away, but Moraine Lake is certainly one of them.
